Vanguard Drone Academy 
Vanguard Drone Academy was created to offer to Public Agencies, Corporate Clients and Individuals, Modern Training Services in Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS).
Our training center is approved by the Civil Aviation Authority with registration number EL-UAS-TC-4 and is the result of Vanguard’s years of experience and expertise in the design, development and evolution of Unmanned Aircraft Systems.
Our goal is to ensure that the prospective pilots will acquire the necessary knowledge in whichever Training Program they choose, obtaining the corresponding Certification from the Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority (HCAA) and the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).

Category Α1/Α3
The training in categories A1/A3 shall be for the purpose of obtaining a certificate for the operation of Unmanned Aircraft Systems falling within the following subcategories based on their Maximum Take-Off Weight.
Subcategories:
- C0: < 0,25 kg
- C1: 0,25 kg to 0,90 kg
- C3-C4: 4 kg to 25 kg
Prerequisites
The Drone pilot candidate must be at least 16 years of age.
Theoretical Training
The training is conducted through an Online Asynchronous Platform. The Academy sends the Trainee the login codes to the platform in order to access the curriculum and the supporting educational material.
The purpose of the Online Platform is to adequately prepare the candidate pilot for the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) theoretical examinations.
It consists of a series of 9 courses in an asynchronous training format.
It includes an online examination of 40 multiple-choice questions

The training in categories A2 shall be for the purpose of obtaining a certificate for the operation of Unmanned Aircraft Systems falling within the following subcategories based on their Maximum Take-Off Weight.

- The Drone pilot candidate must be at least 16 years of age.
- The Drone pilot candidate should hold a category A1/A3 licence.

The training is conducted through an Online Asynchronous Platform. The Academy sends the Trainee the login codes to the platform in order to access the curriculum and the supporting educational material.
The purpose of the Online Platform is to adequately prepare the candidate pilot for the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) theoretical examination.
It consists of a series of 3 courses in an asynchronous training format that allows the use of SFE in an urban environment and at a safe distance from people.
It includes an online examination of 30 multiple-choice questions.
The A2 Training Program includes the following modules:
- Meteorology
- Flight performance of an SFE flight
- Technical and operational risk mitigation measures
The trainee has the possibility at any time to test their level of knowledge by choosing test exams in order to be sure of success in the final exams
The A2 examinations are conducted with physical presence at our Academy’s premises.
Candidates are tested on 30 multiple choice questions with a total test duration of 45 minutes.

The trainee must have successfully completed the A1/A3 theoretical examination in order to proceed to the A2 examination.
The A2 examinations are conducted with physical presence at our Academy’s premises. Candidates are tested in 30 multiple choice questions with a total duration of 45 minutes.

The Gold training program includes theoretical training for all subcategories of the open category A1/A3-A2 as well as 12 hours of practical training which takes place at your location with one of the most established drone instructors.

Practical training for the acquisition of an open category pilot’s license is optional according to the European regulation and is offered separately in the Bronze – Silver – Gold programs in order for the trainees to gain flying experience and substantial knowledge.

The Silver training program includes theoretical training for all subcategories of the open category A1/A3-A2 as well as 8 hours of practical training. The practical training is conducted by our Academy Flight Instructor which have many years of training experience in unmanned Aircrafts and their applications.
